What's your favourite vertical strangulation in which is shown feet lifted from the ground? Both mainstream and fetish scenes...

There was a scene where a blonde dancer gets noosed right after some performance involving a motorcycle (I think). Lots of gagging and kicking.

Sends me to my happy place.

That's from the movie "Last Dance". It's actually a hanging, and on my clip site for anyone interested.

As for me... wow... so many, both fetish and mainstream... I'll list a few of my favorites. These are my Top 5 from each:

Mainstream (These are all on my clip site)

Amy Parrish in American Gothic: "Strangler" (fatal)
Deborah Everton in "Blow Out" (fatal)
Eva Derrek in "The Graveyard" (fatal)
Uncredited brunette in "Body Language" (fatal)
Deborah Shelton in "Body Double" (non-fatal)

Fetish (The first two were customs)

Alexandria in "In Thirty" by PKF Studios
Pepper Kester in "Laundry Room Attack" by PKF Studios
Kendra James in "Wet Death" by Rue Morgue
Andie in "Strangled CEO" by Psycho-Thrillers
Courtney Taylor in "Halloween: Discovery" by Psycho-Thrillers

You are quite welcome. Lift-up stranglings are my favorite, so I'm always on the look-out for them.

Come to think of it, that one could have gone down as "best vocal performance", too.

I will grant Erica Ringstrom's gasping in Last Dance sounds sexy as hell, but I really wish the filmmaker had used a lasso instead of a noose. Unlike lassos, nooses can't tighten themselves, which is exactly what that one did. If you watch closely, you'll notice that in the shot right before she backs into the rope, there's more than enough slack for her head to fit through. In the very next shot, when she's pulled against the wall, it's tightened around her throat. There is simply no way a noose can do that on its own. It needs two hands.

That's also why I hate the use of nooses in fetish videos, especially when used in a context that is technically impossible. They are just way too damn popular.

Case in point, this home invasion hanging in an EwP photoset from several years ago. Once again, lots of slack as it's dropped over Andrea Bujold. And then it tightens itself. Once again, not possible.

PLEASE NOTE: These images have been resized from their original 1258 x 1899 resolution.

EwP may have mastered the art of SFX hangings, but they don't know dick about how nooses really work.

May God forgive me for the pun I'm about to inflict:

Nyghtfall; it's all about SUSPENSION of disbelief.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry...

I do agree with you about the noose in mainstream shows. Art direction and a certain loopy vision on the part of the director always win out over logic. Most people don't notice that stuff. We do because that's our bag, ( and speaking of bags - have we got a poll on the best suffocation scene?)

:: sound of thunder crackling overhead ::

There's a difference between suspending disbelief, and recognizing bulls**t production decisions. I don't give a damn how much someone may favor nooses, or how much sense they may make for a hanging simply by association with the word, unless both hands are going to be available to tighten it, either use a lasso, or some kind of thin cable with one end threaded through a steel loop in the other.

Here's a prime example of such a hanging done right, featuring Sigourney Weaver in "Copycat":

Nyghttfall; It's obvious my standards are WAY lower than yours! I've seen so much goofy crap, regardless of our aesthetic, that I'm willing to forgive quite a lot for a few nuggets of goodness.

"Copycat" had its problems, but it probably had more right with it than wrong. Overall, in spite of its troubles, I was entertained.

Guess I could have some fun with this thread with a little discussion of some of the really bad mistakes people make when they try to have a scene like this.

Like the garroting of some woman by a guy/girl who is clearly their size (or smaller), and yet, somehow, they are able to dead lift someone who weighs more than they do, straight off the floor with no support. (Don't get me started on the actresses who, in the midst of the agony of strangulation - stop to straighten their tresses - then continue to gasp and gurgle along...)

While my standards are high, you'd be surprised what I can put up with myself.

There's a reason why I was able to post two examples of that photoset from EwP. As ridiculous as their use of a noose was for that shoot, I have never before or since seen anyone do a wall hanging inside the victim's home, even if it was a mock set. The scenario itself gave me instant wood. Coupled with the outfit Andrea was wearing, there was no way in hell I was going to let a technical flaw like that keep me from downloading the entire photoset.

I love seeing Sigourney Weaver in this movie ... Everything was perfect: the scenario, the clothes she wears, her amazing legs stocking, the cable around her neck ... The only fault: the two scenes are not fatal.

Watch Sigourney slowly being hanged on the big screen was fascinating to me... excited

Anyways, I ran across this clip somewhere, and to be honest, I don't even know the name of the movie, but it's some French film...

I just... cannot believe how... spectacular it is!

This scene is something I've fantasized about for as long as I can remember. It has everything I've ever imagined about this type of scenario.

* Smartly dressed, successful career woman
* Surprise attack from unseen killer above
* Wire thin cable so she can't pull herself up
* Reaction shot right before she's pulled up
* Hands clawing at the line around her neck throughout the attack.
* Plenty of foot shots
* It's fatal!

It's as if the filmmaker read my mind and shot exactly the kind hanging I've dreamed of seeing all my life. I could die tonight and not be any happier.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!

That would've been nice, but it is so perfect in every other way that I don't care that her shoes stayed on.

Excellent!

And the actress playing the victim... is...

:: starts Google Image search on the cast list ::

Elsa Kiko´ne.

Ok, now all I have to do is find a copy I can put on my site. The audio/video on that site you linked to are horribly out of sync.

That scene is excellent. It was posted in another thread here on Deadskirts a while ago and I thought for sure you had seen it already, Nyghtfall. Looking forward to giving it another watch once it's up on your site, since I can't stream clips very well on my computer. Oh yes

Yeah, I'm also sure that Nyghtfall had already seen that clip ;) I've posted it some months ago... by the way the original upload on that site wasn't mine. I love that scene!

Everyone, I've recently seen a beautiful lifting strangling scene in some site but unfortunetly that clips wasn't there anymore, it was about a really beautiful babe wearing a bathrobe and garroted from behind until her feet are arched. I'm not sure if it's a clip from a movie or a tv series, but that's was very hot! I think it's from some recent movie or show, and I'm sure that it's not on Nyghtfall's site.

Anyone knows where it could be from?

It wasn't this, was it? From Stalk To Kill 2 by Psycho-Thrillers:

Your welcome, feel free to use it on your site if you want to as well - only fair seeing as I've downloaded a fair few off your site :)

I've just managed to source a DVD of Stranger In The House - Kathleen Kinmonts demise - been after it for ages - can upload that later also once I've edited it if you want.

Curious... that movie isn't available on DVD. When you say "source", do you mean a re-mastered version, or that someone transferred from VHS?

Just a question, Nyghtfall. Have you updated your site for the last couple of weeks? Because there's nothing showing up after July 29th for me. Just wanted to know if it's only me.

It's not you. I haven't updated it since the 29th. I meant to update it on the 30th, but I've been too focused on other things, not the least of which was trying to figure out why my editor wouldn't save files in WMV format anymore. Finally solved that problem last night. I don't anticipate needing to go back to using that format, but I like knowing it's an option again.

I've got three new clips to make up for the delay, and am planning on updating the site later today.

There's another anime clip I always recommend, "Dominion"

I like the scene when the lady kicked her feet, trembling and than one of her high heel pumps droped on the floor..

How about trying this in another format? MP4 formats tend to be very unreliable...as this one was.

Hmm ... probably this movie was released on DVD with another title. This sometimes happens.

By the way ... I loved to see Kathleen Kinmont in Renagade TV series. She played Cheyenne Phillips ... who was the partner of Lorenzo Lamas in this TV series. I dreamed to see Kathleen \ Cheyenne being strangled ... You guys can imagine the happiness I felt when I founded this scene of Stranger In The House ... eh, eh ... excited Very Happy

For those don't know Kathleen Kinmont ...

Beautiful blonde, sharply dressed with a pair of black stockings and matching pumps, choked to death in a parking garage by the same guy she just had sex with one scene earlier... Yes, that scene was a very nice surprise when I first saw it.

It's on my clip site for anyone interested. :)

Did anyone ever see the first few minutes of "The Unsuspected"? It's an old B&W suspenser from the forties with Claude Raines. He creeps up on his secretary, strangles her, (off screen), and rigs up a hanging/suicide.

I'd pass on a scene like that. I need them lifted up during an on-screen attack.

I wish I could remember the show, but there was a feet lifting strangulation scene in a 1960 or early 70's series--it might have been Hawaii 5-O--where a young woman in a dress or skirt is lifted off the floor--I think in her bathroom--by a large man, who strangles her with his bare hands. It shows her feet lifting off the ground. Like I said, it might have been the original Hawaii 5-O, or maybe Mannix. I wish I could remember, I was just a kid when I saw it. Also the Brian DePalma film where the woman is killed in the bathroom stall--was it Dressed to Kill, or Blow Out? I remember her legs kicking really fast.

Leo,

I wish you could remember that show, too. The scene sounds incredibly hot.

As for the Brian de Palma film, it was Blow Out.

Actually, for me, replace "Strangled CEO" with "Wall Throttle: Ryanne", and you've got my Top 5. Ryanne's perfomance was way better than Andie's, and she looked a helluva lot sexier in the silk robe I suggested she wear for the scene.

As for "Flash Forward", meh... there were too many head shots in which Violet's and the killer's lackluster performances made it obvious Violet was standing on something.

Along with these, I'd also add
RyAnne in "Wall Throttle:RyAnne" by Dirty Deeds
Violet Monroe in "Flash Forward" by Psycho-Thrillers

Actually, for me, replace "Strangled CEO" with "Wall Throttle: Ryanne", and you've got my Top 5. Ryanne's perfomance was way better than Andie's, and she looked a helluva lot sexier in the silk robe I suggested she wear for the scene.

I thought Violet did good in it & there were also a good amount of foot shots.
